Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 22, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how Creator Dashboard (the “Extension”) collects, uses, and protects information when you install and use it in Google Chrome. By using the Extension, you agree to this Policy and our Terms of Service.
1. Who We Are
Data Controller: Creator Dashboard (the “Developer”). For privacy questions or requests, use our Contact Form.
2. Scope
This Policy applies to the Extension and any optional web pages it links to (e.g., tutorials, help, or account pages). It does not cover third-party sites or services we do not control.
3. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the Extension, we may collect or process the following categories of information:
- Information you provide directly: content submitted via our Contact Form (e.g., name, email, message), and any preferences you explicitly save inside the Extension (e.g., dashboard layout, theme, widgets).
- Google account/OAuth information (if you sign in): basic Google profile identifiers authorized by you via Google OAuth (e.g., your Google user ID / email if the scope permits), OAuth tokens strictly for enabling signed-in features. We do not store your Google password.
- YouTube API data (if you connect YouTube): channel/video metadata and analytics necessary to provide features you enable (e.g., viewing performance summaries). Access is limited to the scopes you approve.
- Local app data: settings, cached results, session state, and feature toggles saved via Chrome storage (e.g.,
chrome.storage.local/sync) on your device or Chrome profile. - Diagnostics & usage (optional): de-identified, aggregate events (e.g., feature usage counts, error codes) to improve reliability. If analytics is present, you’ll see a toggle to opt in/out.
- Cookies & similar tech: the Extension primarily uses Chrome storage, not traditional cookies. Linked pages on our site may use essential cookies for basic operations (see Section 11).
4. Permissions & APIs We Use
The Extension only requests permissions necessary to function, for example:
- storage (save your settings locally/sync)
- activeTab or limited tabs (enable actions on the current tab when you invoke them)
- identity / identity.email (Google sign-in via OAuth, where applicable)
- scripting, contextMenus, alarms (to provide specific features you enable)
The exact list appears in the Chrome install dialog and your extension’s details page. If we add new capabilities, we will request additional permissions through Chrome’s standard prompt.
5. How We Use Information
- Provide and operate the Extension and its features you choose to enable.
- Personalize your experience (save preferences, layout, widgets).
- Authenticate your Google account (if you opt in) and access YouTube data you authorize to display insights to you.
- Maintain safety, debug issues, monitor performance, and improve quality.
- Communicate with you about support requests or important updates.
6. Legal Bases (EEA/UK users)
We process data based on: (i) contract necessity (to provide the Extension), (ii) legitimate interests (security, improvement), (iii) consent (e.g., analytics, OAuth scopes), and (iv) legal obligations.
7. Information Sharing
- No sale of personal data. We do not sell your personal information.
- Service providers: We may use trusted processors (e.g., Google for OAuth, hosting providers for our website) under agreements requiring appropriate safeguards.
- Legal & safety: We may disclose information to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights, property, and safety.
8. YouTube & Google API Disclosures (If Connected)
If you enable YouTube features, your use is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy and the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We access and use YouTube data solely to provide the features you enable, do not transfer it to third parties except as necessary to provide or improve the user-facing features, do not use it for advertising, and do not allow any human reading of such data except where required for security, compliance, or with your consent (e.g., support requests). You can revoke access at any time in your Google Account settings.
9. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information (e.g., least-privilege access, encryption in transit where applicable, and Chrome storage scoping). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; risks remain.
10. Data Retention
- Extension settings/local data: kept on your device/Chrome profile until you delete it or uninstall the Extension.
- OAuth tokens: retained only as needed to provide the signed-in feature; revoked if you disconnect or uninstall.
- Support communications: retained as long as necessary to address your request and maintain records.
- Diagnostics/analytics (if enabled): retained in aggregate form for up to 24 months unless you withdraw consent or we no longer need it sooner.
11. Cookies & Local Storage
The Extension primarily uses Chrome storage APIs (not traditional cookies). Our website pages may use essential cookies for things like session management or form protection. You can control cookies in your browser settings; disabling them may affect site functionality but not the core Extension features.
12. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access your personal information;
- Rectify inaccurate data;
- Delete your data (see Section 13);
- Object or restrict certain processing;
- Portability of data you provided;
- Withdraw consent (e.g., turn off analytics or disconnect Google/YouTube in settings).
To exercise these rights, use our Contact Form. We may ask for information to verify your request.
13. Data Deletion & Controls
- Inside Chrome: Right-click the Extension → “Manage extension” → “Site access” & storage controls; or remove the Extension to clear associated local storage.
- Google/YouTube access: Revoke the Extension’s access in your Google Account > Security > Third-party access.
- Support or contact data: Request deletion via our Contact Form.
- Analytics (if present): Use the in-Extension toggle to disable analytics collection going forward.
14. International Transfers
If we process information outside your country, we use appropriate safeguards where required by law (e.g., standard contractual clauses) to protect your data.
15. Children’s Privacy
The Extension is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes to the Extension or legal requirements. We will post updates here with a new “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice within the Extension or on our site.
17. Contact Us
Questions or requests? Please reach out via our Contact Form.
18. Region-Specific Disclosures
California (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may exercise access, deletion, correction, and limit-use rights as described in Section 12.
EEA/UK: You have GDPR rights described in Section 12. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
19. Additional Notes
- No sensitive categories: The Extension does not seek to collect sensitive categories of data (e.g., health, financial, biometric) unless you explicitly provide it (e.g., in a support message), in which case we process it only to address your request.
- Advertising: We do not use your YouTube API data or Google account data for ads. If we ever introduce contextual promotions inside the Extension, they will not use your personal data without obtaining consent where required.
